Protocols

HTTP

Our documentation includes code examples showcasing how to connect to the proxies using HTTP protocol. The protocol is supported by common libraries and third-party software.

HTTPS

You can also use the fully encrypted connection using HTTPS protocol for an extra layer of security. For that, you have to add ‘https://’ to your proxy entry point. For example: https://ddc.oxylabs.io:8000

curl -x https://ddc.oxylabs.io:8000 -U user-USERNAME:PASSWORD https://ip.oxylabs.io/location

SOCKS5

Oxylabs Dedicated Datacenter Proxies support both TCP and UDP connections.

For using SOCKS5 protocol, you have to add socks5h:// to your proxy entry point. For example: socks5h://ddc.oxylabs.io:8000

curl -x socks5h://user-USERNAME:PASSWORD@ddc.oxylabs.io:8000 https://ip.oxylabs.io/location

Note that some websites may identify a proxy IP when using the SOCKS5 protocol. We highly suggest switching to an alternative protocol in such instances.
